Ohio (inside) takes the Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita Park

Ohio has been installed as the lukewarm 4-1 morning-line favorite for the $200,000 Presque Isle Mile Stakes at 1 1/16 miles over the Presque Isle Downs & Casino all-weather track Sept. 9. The Brazilian-bred son of Elusive Quality carries high weight of 124 pounds.

Ohio took the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes (G1T) at Santa Anita Park in March and has run competitively if less successfully at the grade 1 and grade 2 levels three times since. He has been prompting the pace in his recent races and is the lone grade 1 winner in this field.

English Minister has won two times over the Presque Isle synthetic, taking allowance optional claiming events there in May and June. He enters on a four-race win streak and at age 9 is by far the most experienced participant here. If he takes the step up in class in stride, he is a major player.

Mr Ritz won the Seagram Cup Stakes (G3) over Woodbine's synthetic surface last out and has not finished off the board in five tries over all-weather tracks. The frontrunner should find himself on the lead here and is a top threat to snag the prize.

Finishing third behind Mr. Ritz in the Seagram Cup was Special Forces, who is in good form but needs a pace battle to form in order to make his late kick most effective. Lanier won the Hanshin Stakes (G3) two starts back over the Arlington International Racecouse synthetic surface but faltered in mid-June at Presque Isle. He seems to do his best work on or near the lead.

Lookin to Strike won the Ontario Derby (G3) last autumn at Woodbine and makes his second start of the season after sprinting on the turf at Woodbine last out as a tightener. Dabo rides a two-race win streak but is also dependent on a pace to run into, and What's Up Dude has been effective over the Arlington all-weather this season
