Got Stormy wins the Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga Race Course

Trainer Mark Casse will aim for his third $1 million Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (G1T) victory Sept. 14 with Gary Barber's Got Stormy, who could follow in the footsteps of Tepin (2016) and World Approval (2017).

Got Stormy has been named the 8-5 morning line favorite for the Woodbine feature, which is a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" race for the Nov. 2 TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) at Santa Anita Park. Tepin won the championship in 2015 and World Approval did so the same season as his Woodbine Mile score.

The 4-year-old Get Stormy  filly was entered off her biggest victory in which she ran down the boys to win the Aug. 10 Fourstardave Handicap (G1T) by 2 1/2 lengths at Saratoga Race Course. A week earlier at the Spa, she won the Fasig-Tipton De La Rose Stakes.

Jockey Tyler Gaffalione will be back on Got Stormy from post 5 after riding stablemate March to the Arch to fourth in the Fourstardave. The filly breezed a half-mile in :48 flat on the Woodbine turf Sept. 7.

It's no secret Chad Brown's stable is a force on the turf, but the trainer will look for his first Woodbine Mile victory when Peter Brant's Raging Bull comes back from a runner-up finish in the Fourstardave.

The 4-year-old Dark Angel colt won three graded stakes last season, topped by the Hollywood Derby (G1T) at Del Mar, but has not found the winner's circle in four starts this season. He drew post 7 and is the 3-1 second choice. Joel Rosario will ride.

Raging Bull last worked Sept. 7 on the Oklahoma training track's dirt surface at Saratoga, traveling a half-mile in :50.49.

Pin Oak Stable's homebred Synchrony has already won two graded stakes this year and returns to the site of his June 29 King Edward Stakes (G2T) victory. Michael Stidham trains the 6-year-old son of Tapit  who has not raced since that score.

Synchrony, off the board only once this year, worked a bullet five furlongs Sept. 7 at Fair Hill Training Center. He was timed in a minute flat over the all-weather track. Flavien Prat will ride the 6-1 third choice from post 4.

El Tormenta, Lucullan, Silent Poet, Awesometank, American Guru, Made You Look, Emmaus, and Admiralty Pier round out the field.
