Hip 851, a colt by Quality Road, brings $900,000
A Quality Road colt half brother to stakes winner Saratoga Heater was bought Sept. 13 by SF Bloodstock, Starlight Racing, and Madaket Stables for $900,000 during the fourth session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
The colt, foaled March 25, 2018, was consigned and bred by Nursery Place. The colt's dam, stakes-placed Salt Lake mare Hot Spell, has produced Saratoga Heater, the Bertram F. Bongard Stakes winner who has earned $396,078, and stakes -placed Malocchio.
Nursery Place had purchased Hot Spell for $85,000 out of the 2015 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale while in foal to Morning Line.
