Hip 992, a Union Rags colt, brings $650,000

A Union Rags  colt out of a half sister to Abel Tasman brought $650,000 from Mayberry Farm at the Sept. 14 fifth session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Agent David Ingordo signed the ticked for the bay colt who was bred in Kentucky and consigned by Mt. Brilliant Farm as Hip 992. He is the second foal out of the Sky Mesa  mare Sky Girl, winner of Churchill Downs' Dogwood Stakes (G3).

Sky Girl is out of the Deputy Minister mare Vargas Girl, the dam of champion 3-year-old filly Abel Tasman whose six grade 1 wins include the 2017 Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1).
