Kentucky-based trainer Kellyn Gorder has been suspended 20 days and fined $500 by stewards after a horse he trained tested positive for the bronchodilator clenbuterol following a victory Aug. 10 at Ellis Park.
Gorder is serving the suspension from Oct. 7-26 for the positive test taken from Belle Natalie following the ninth race at Ellis Aug. 10.
Two horses previously trained by Gorder entered at Keeneland Oct. 9, including Academic Probation in the featured JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (gr. IIIT), are under the care of trainer Sally Sue Schu.
