Description:

Wise Dan, the reigning North American Horse of the Year, has been surpassed by 3-year-old filly Treve on the list of "World's Best Racehorse Rankings."

The rankings, which are compiled by the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities and are sponsored by Longines, covers racing from the period of Jan. 1-Oct. 6.

Sharing the top position with a rating of 130 are Australian sensation Black Caviar, who retired with a spotless record of no losses in 25 starts, and Treve, who defeated older horses in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I).

Wise Dan, who was second to Black Caviar in the previous rankings that covered racing performances from Dec. 1, 2012, through June 9 of this year, is now third on the list with a 129 rating.

Other U.S.-raced horses in the top are Game On Dude (co-fifth with a 126 rating), the now-retired Animal Kingdom and top handicap horse Fort Larned, both co-rated seventh at 125.
