Hill 'n' Dale Farms announced Oct. 6 that two-time Horse of the Year Curlin  will stand for an unchanged fee at $175,000 on a live foal, stand and nurses basis in 2020.

"Curlin has enjoyed a phenomenal year on the racetrack and in the sales ring. His progeny earnings this year are over $10 million, ranking him fourth on the general sire list," said John G. Sikura, president of Hill 'n' Dale. "In addition to selling the sale-topping colt at Keeneland September for $4.1 million, his yearling average of $607,000 makes Curlin the most successful commercial sire in North America.

"His book will not exceed 140 mares, and we expect he will once again attract a phenomenal group of mares. I thank Barbara Banke for her support of mares and allowing his stud fee to remain unchanged at $175,000 when his accomplishments could have justified a raise. Allowing breeders to be profitable is essential and engenders loyalty to the Hill 'n' Dale stallions. I have always tried to provide fellow breeders with the best value possible."

In addition to being the leading sire of yearlings, having sold the sales topper at The Saratoga Sale, Fasig-Tipton's select yearling sale in New York, Curlin was also the leading sire of juveniles in 2019 with the $3.65 million sale topper at The Gulfstream Sale, Fasig-Tipton's Florida sale of 2-year-olds in training. Curlin's 2019 2-year-old average was $863,429 as of Oct. 6.

He is the sire of 16 stakes winners this year—10 in graded stakes. His overall leading earner is millionaire Vino Rosso, winner of the Gold Cup at Santa Anita Stakes (G1). Curlin is the leading sire by average earnings index and is the leading sire of million-dollar sale yearlings in 2019 with eight.
