Shooting Star Thoroughbreds syndicate announced today that it has chosen to eschew running its star, Chance It, in the prestigious Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita Park in favor of a chance  in The Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill Downs on November 30th.

Industry enthusiasts have wondered what was next for 2 year old Chance It who recently won the $400,000 FSS in Reality at Gulfstream Park with jockey Tyler Gaffalione aboard. Trainer Saffie Joseph has lead him to 5 races, 3 wins and 2 seconds, with Chance It garnering consistent, nation-leading, 2-year-old numbers.

According to syndicate manager Mary Lightner, the decision to opt out of the Breeders' Cup was made based on what was best for the horse. "He's run five times in four months, which is a lot for a two year old. Going to Churchill will give him 60 days between races rather than 30. Ultimately, the well-being of the horse is what is most important."
