Arouse N Go First Winner for Rousing Sermon

Arouse N Go breaks her maiden at Fresno

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams' Arouse N Go drew off by five lengths Oct. 13  at the Big Fresno Fair to mark the first winner for her sire, Rousing Sermon. The 2-year-old filly rallied to best five competitors in the third race and complete a mile in 1:42.53 on a fast dirt track.

Arouse N Go, trained by Jeff Bonde and ridden by Frank Alvarado, earned $5,500 for the win, increasing her earnings to $10,331 with a 1-0-1 record in four starts. She went unclaimed for $12,500 in the maiden claiming event.

Bred by the Williams in California, Arouse N Go is out of the Bertrando mare Go Jaylo, who has now produced 10 winners from 10 foals to race.

Rousing Sermon entered stud at Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif., in 2016. The 10-year-old son of Lucky Pulpit was also owned by the Williams and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He earned black-type victories in the Bob Benoit California Cup Juvenile Stakes at Santa Anita Park and the On Trust Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Rousing Sermon placed in four graded events, including the CashCall Futurity (G1) at Hollywood Park in which he rallied from 10th to finish second a neck behind Liaison . He also collected graded stakes placings in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita, the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, and the Native Diver Stakes (G3) at Hollywood Park.

From 36 starts, Rousing Sermon compiled a 6-7-7 record and earnings of $821,572. He stood for $2,500 in 2019.
