Less than two weeks out from the Nov. 1-2 Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park, the lead group of horses continues to hold their respective positions in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top Thoroughbred Poll.
Bricks and Mortar remains on top as he prepares for a start in either the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) or TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T), though trainer Chad Brown is leaning toward the Turf. A win in either test would add to a season that has seen Bricks and Mortar go unbeaten in five starts—including four grade 1 wins—while cementing himself as a leading Horse of the Year candidate.
Fellow Horse of the Year contender Midnight Bisou is expected to be the heavy favorite for the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) off a seven-race win streak and she remains second in the Top Thoroughbred Poll.
