Mo Dont No Aims for Fourth Best of Ohio Endurance Win

In the stakes name, the "Endurance" references the 1 1/4 miles of the Best of Ohio Endurance Stakes but in the case of three-time winner Mo Dont No, it also describes his durability.

Ron Paolucci Racing's Mo Dont No will try to win the $150,000 Best of Ohio Endurance Stakes a fourth straight time Oct. 26 at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course. The 6-year-old Uncle Mo  gelding has already won the stakes, which rotates venues between all three tracks in the Buckeye State: Mahoning Valley in 2016, Belterra Park in 2017, and Thistledown last year.

Should Mo Dont No win the race a fourth straight time Saturday, he'll move within a few thousand dollars of millionaire status. Currently trained by Jeffrey Radosevich, Mo Dont No has won 18 of 38 starts with earnings of $908,020. He has three wins in four starts at Mahoning Valley, including wins in the 2016 Steel Valley Sprint and the 2017 Cardinal Handicap. When he won the 2016 Endurance at Mahoning Valley, he set a track record by completing the test in 2:08.53.

The Endurance is one of five stakes for Ohio-breds on Saturday's card, each offering a purse of $150,000. In the three races for older horses, last year's winner returns.

In the Best of Ohio Sprint Stakes, Nancy Lavrich and Ronald Zielinski's Altissimo enters in top form as the 6-year-old Noble Causeway gelding finished second in the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Stakes (G3) Sept. 21 at Laurel Park. That effort earned Altissimo his first graded stakes placing.

Trained by co-owner Zielinski, Altissimo rolled to a nine-length score in last year's Sprint in the slop at Thistledown. Regular rider Christian Pilares is scheduled to ride the five-time black-type stakes winner in Saturday's six-furlong test, which has drawn 13 entries.

In the Best of Ohio Distaff Stakes, Ron Paolucci Racing and Leigh Anderson-Butler's Takechargedelilah will try to return to the form that saw her rally from 15 lengths back to win last year's Distaff at Thistledown. Racing in stakes for Ohio-breds in her past four starts, Takechargedelilah has managed just one placing and she enters Saturday's 1 1/8-mile test off a fifth-place finish in the Scarlet and Gray Handicap Sept. 21 at Thistledown.

Ohio-bred 2-year-olds are featured in the day's other two stakes, both at 1 1/16 miles. In the John W. Galbreath Stakes for juvenile fillies, stakes winners Moonlit Mission and Edge of Night will meet for the first time since Moonlit Mission edged the latter by a half-length in an Aug. 7 maiden sprint at Thistledown.

In the Juvenile Stakes, Marcus Yagour's Betchaiwill enters off a three-length score in the Loyalty Stakes Sept. 22 at Belterra Park.
