British Idiom and Javier Castellano win the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) on Nov. 7, 2017 Santa Anita in Arcadia, Ca.

Michael Dubb, The Elkstone Group, Madaket Stables, and Bethlehem Stables' British Idiom retained her undfeated record Nov. 1, emerging victorious after a daring stretch duel in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Santa Anita Park.

Ridden by Javier Castellano and trained by Brad Cox, the Flashback  filly rated just off the pace for much of the 1 1/16-mile test before swinging wide off the far turn to challenge a hard-driving Donna Veloce in deep stretch.

Matching Donna Veloce stride for stride to the wire, British Idiom was able to edge her rival at the finish in a final time of 1:47.07. Donna Veloce held for second followed by Bast in third.

Bred in Kentucky by Hargus Sexton, Sandra Sexton, and Silver Fern Farm, the Breeders' Cup win marked the second consecutive top-level victory for the 2-year-old filly, who entered off a 6 1/2-length score in the Oct. 4 Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1) at Keeneland
