Leading Third-Crop Sire Take Charge Indy Now at WinStar

Leading third-crop sire Take Charge Indy , a regally bred son of A.P. Indy out of multiple grade 1 winner, graded stakes producer, and Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady, has arrived at WinStar Farm for the 2020 breeding season and will be available for inspection beginning at a Nov. 4 Open House from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Take Charge Indy, who returns to the United States after a three-year tour of stud duty in South Korea, has progeny earnings this year of $5,237,210 through Oct. 31. He is the fourth-leading sire of his class by number of black-type winners of 2019 with four. For his three crops to race cumulatively, the sire ranks as the co-second-leading North American sire with 11 black-type winners. 

For 2019, Take Charge Indy's top runners include Long Range Toddy, winner of a division of the Rebel Stakes (G2) and an earner of $918,709; Preakness Stakes (G1) and Fasig-Tipton Holy Bull Stakes (G2) runner-up Everfast; multiple graded-placed Motion Emotion; and stakes winner Pole Setter, who was graded-placed last year. 

Take Charge Indy is a grade 1-winning millionaire who won or placed in seven graded stakes from 2 to 4. He will stand the 2020 season for $17,500 with a stands and nurses guarantee. 

The WinStar Farm open houses continue through Nov. 11.
