Ghostzapper headlines Adena Springs' 2020 stallion roster with an unchanged stud fee of $85,000, the farm announced Oct. 31.
The farm's Kentucky roster also features Point of Entry , who will stand for $15,000, while Macho Uno and Mucho Macho Man will each stand for $10,000, and Shaman Ghost will stand his second season in Kentucky for a fee of $7,500. All the fees include a stands and nurses guarantee.
Ghostzapper, a perennial top stallion, ranks as a top-10 North American sire by number of black-type winners with 11 in 2019 through Oct. 31. He is co-ranked with War Front , Candy Ride , and Speightstown . A 19-year-old son of Awesome Again, Ghostzapper's black-type winners this year include new grade 1 winners Guarana, who captured the Acorn Stakes (G1) and the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), and 2-year-old colt Nucky, winner of the Del Mar Futurity (G1). Ghostzapper is the sire of 12 grade 1 winners, nine millionaires, and five champions worldwide.
Point of Entry, a five-time grade 1 winner by Dynaformer, has been represented by black-type performers in five countries. He is the sire of Plus Que Parfait, who won the 2019 UAE Derby Sponsored by Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group (G2) as well as black-type runners the likes of grade 2-placed juvenile Tuggle and multiple graded stakes-placed miler Admission Office.
Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Mucho Macho Man earned $5,625,410 in an outstanding racing career. He is off to a fast start at stud and is the co-second-leading second-crop sire of 2019 by number of black-type wins as of Oct. 31. He is tied at seven with Souper Speedy and just behind Cairo Prince and Goldencents , who have eight apiece. Mucho Macho Man has been represented this year by 2-year-old stakes winner City Man, and among his first-crop standouts are multiple graded stakes winner and grade 1-placed Mucho Gusto, grade 2 stakes winner Mucho Unusual, and Canadian classic-placed He's a Macho Man, who was second in Woodbine's Breeders' Stakes.
Macho Uno, the sire of Mucho Macho Man, is the sire of five grade 1 winners and five millionaires. His 2019 stakes winners include More Than Good and 2-year-old Unmachable.
Shaman Ghost, Ghostzapper's best son and a Canadian Racing Hall of Fame inductee, is a multiple grade 1 winner of more than $3.8 million. His well-received first foals arrived this year and will be yearlings in 2020.
Silent Name and Silver Max will anchor the Adena North roster for the upcoming Ontario season. Silent Name, Canada's leading sire in 2018, is again leading the standings this year with more than $2.5 million in progeny earnings year to date. The son of Sunday Silence will stand for CA$7,500. Silver Max, a record-setting grade 1 winner, is represented by first 2-year-olds this year. He will stand for CA$3,000 in 2020.
