Indiana Sale Topped by Pass Rush Yearling Filly

A yearling daughter of Pass Rush  was sold for $26,000 to top the Indiana Thoroughbred Owner's and Breeder's Association's Fall Mixed Sale Oct. 28 at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino near Shelbyville, Ind.

Named Paloma's Pass, the Pass Rush filly (Hip 55) was purchased by trainer Randy Klopp from the West Farms consignment. Bred in Indiana by Steven West and Sharon E. Baker, the filly is out of the winning Petionville mare Village Voice and from the female family of multiple grade 2-placed and $523,495-earner Lenny the Lender, who won or placed in 25 of 62 career starts.

A two-time Indiana Horse of the Year, grade 2 winner Pass Rush is the sire of seven stakes winners, with progeny earnings in excess of $5.6 million. The 20-year-old horse stands at Swifty Farms where his 2020 fee will be $2,000.

From 71 cataloged, ITOBA reported 47 horses grossed $265,321 for an average price of $5,645 and $4,500 median. The RNA rate was 31.9%.

During last year's sale, 41 horses averaged $5,839 on total sales of $239,400, for a median price of $3,900 and a 24.1% RNA rate.
