Catalina Cruiser , Lane's End's homebred son of Union Rags , will enter stud next year at a fee of $20,000, the farm announced Nov. 5.

The 5-year-old chestnut retired with a record of seven wins from nine starts. He won five graded stakes, including back-to-back wins in the San Diego Handicap (G2) and Pat O'Brien Stakes (G2) at Del Mar in 2018-19.

Catalina Cruiser proved he could compete in elite company outside of California when he won the 6 1/2-furlong True North Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park in 1:14:85, which was only 2/5ths off the track record.

Bred by William S. Farish out of the Mineshaft  mare Sea Gull, Catalina Cruiser is a half brother to grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Eagle  (Candy Ride ), who was bred and raced by Farish. The family also produced multiple graded stakes winner and prominent sire Mt. Livermore, French group 1 winner Magical Wonder, and grade 3 winner Host, who set a course record of 2:12.83 for 1 3/8 miles in winning the 2005 Mac Diarmida Handicap (G3T) at Gulfstream Park.

Catalina Cruiser, who represents the fourth-generation of Lane's End stallions, arrived at farm near Versailles, Ky., Nov. 4 and will be available for inspection during the Lane's End Open House Monday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.
