Inflamed at the Keeneland November Sale

Inflamed will enter the auction ring Nov. 14 with a major update to her produce record. Since the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale catalog was printed, her first foal, Mo Forza, won the Nov. 2 Qatar Twilight Derby (G2T) at Santa Anita Park

"This colt is her first foal. If you look at his PPs, he shows up every time, so it wasn't really a shock to us that he bloomed into such a nice racehorse," said Lesley Campion of consignor Paramount Sales. "He won the Twilight Derby with his leisure and earned a 96 Beyer (Speed Figure) for it. He's pointing for the Hollywood Derby (G1T) next. (Trainer) Peter Miller is very high on him."

Mo Forza, a 3-year-old Uncle Mo  colt, broke his maiden Sept. 29 going a mile on Santa Anita's turf, entering the stretch three wide before digging in for a two-length victory. He made his stakes debut in the Twilight Derby, sat just off the pace, and pulled clear by 1 3/4 lengths in the 1 1/8-mile grass event on the Breeders' Cup undercard. He has a 2-3-1 record from seven starts and earnings of $199,460.

Inflamed is listed as Hip 3552 in Book 5 of the Keeneland November sale, with Campion noting the mare is not a typical find at this point in the auction. The 9-year-old daughter of Unusual Heat is carrying her fourth foal, sired by Tapiture . She is also the dam of a 2-year-old Graydar  colt and foaled a Munnings  colt in May.

"I think what makes her stand out is her youth, because there are going to be a handful of graded stakes producers in this book, but they're going to be older mares," Campion said. "(Mo Forza) being her first foal really makes her a coveted, good opportunity for folks. They can take her from Tapiture to Uncle Mo, Into Mischief , update the cover, and know that they're buying a very good physical with a proven produce record from a nice family."

Out of the Afternoon Deelites mare Little Hottie, Inflamed was bred in California by Madeline Auerbach, Barry Abrams, and Sonny Pais. She is a full sister to La Jolla Handicap (G2T) winner Burns and Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap (G1T) third Brushburn.

Mo Forza, campaigned by breeder Bardy Farm and OG Boss, is expected to make his next start in the Nov. 30 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar.

"It's not every day that (an update like this) happens, but what's really going to sell her is her youth," Campion reiterated of Inflamed. "It's a big step to be just 9 years of age and already a graded stakes producer."
