Darby Dan Farm announced Nov. 17 that Run Away and Hide is relocating to Turkey to continue his stud career. The 13-year-old son of City Zip will stand at Resat Akkan's farm where he will join Papa Clem and Paco Boy on the stallion roster.
The sire of 32 black-type horses and six graded stakes winners, Run Away and Hide is represented this year by Are You Kidding Me, winner of the Dominion Day Stakes (G3) at Woodbine, and Beach Getaway, winner of the Northbound Pride Oaks at Canterbury Park.
Additional graded stakes scorers by Run Away and Hide include Run Away, winner of the 2017 Best Pal Stakes (G2) at Del Mar, and Ten City, winner of the 2017 Bashford Manor Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs. The stallion's progeny have earned a total of $17,878,413 to date.
As a racehorse, Run Away and Hide was an undefeated multiple graded stakes-winning juvenile who set a stakes record in the Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) at Saratoga Race Course, where he ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.67. He also won the Kentucky Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs and was a debut winner at Keeneland. The bay was trained by Ronny Werner for Ron Kirk, John Bates, and Michael Riordan.
Run Away and Hide stood the 2019 season at Kentucky's Darby Dan for $6,500 stands and nurses.
