As the 2019 seasons of foaling, racing, breeding and sales have come to an end for the Thoroughbred workers, Blue Grass Farms Charities is preparing for its annual Festival of Christmas.
These families will be the charity's VIP guests on December 10-11, 2019 at The Thoroughbred Center, 3380 Paris Pike, Lexington. The venue will be bright and festive for the holidays, and volunteers from various organizations will be Santa's elves assisting the families throughout the night.
This year, the 2-day party will consist of: a traditional sit-down dinner, entertainment, presents for the children, the chance to win bicycles, pictures with Santa, and something new! the chance for the workers to win a pair of The Muck Boot Company Chore mid-calf work boots. These boots cost over $100 per pair, and it's a great addition to the safety initiatives presented by The Jockey Club Safety Net.
"We are so grateful to Director Shannon Kelly and The Jockey Club Safety Net for providing not five...not ten...BUT 50 pairs of boots to be drawn for the workers," said Julie Berry, Executive Director of BGFC. "What a wonderful Christmas gift for the workers to have warm, safe footwear for the cold months ahead. The Tractor Supply in Georgetown is an asset for being strategically located for all Thoroughbred workers to go and pickup their boots."
Workers that sign up with their farm, equine facility or track office to attend FOC are automatically placed in the drawings. BGFC encourages these workers to attend the event so they may receive their 'boot voucher' so they can go to the store for fitting and pick up.
Georgetown, KY's Tractor Supply located at 305 Connector Road, is a certified Muck Boot Company (c) supplier, and is excited to be a part of this safety initiative. "This is a great opportunity to help the Thoroughbred worker," stated David Hadden, Manager, at the Tractor Supply's Georgetown store.
The evening will be joyful and fun for the kids where they each will receive a gift to take home and remember their visit with Santa Claus.
