Second-crop sire Uncaptured is being relocated to South Korea, Ocala Stud announced Dec. 3.
The 9-year-old son of Lion Heart—Captivating, by Arch, is the leading second-crop sire in Florida and ranks among the top 12 nationally with 36 winners and progeny earnings of $1,978,703 this season. He has sired five black-type winners so far, led by 2018 Schuylerville Stakes (G3) winner Catherinethegreat and multiple stakes winner Bye Bye J.
The sire's stakes winners of 2019 include Two Sixty, who won the FTBOA Florida Sire My Dear Girl Stakes and was third in the FTBOA Florida Sire Desert Vixen Stakes, and Yes I Am Free, who won the Texas Glitter Stakes.
Bred in Ontario by William Graham, Uncaptured wound up with owner John Oxley and in the hands of trainer Mark Casse. At 2, he won six of seven starts with five of his victories coming in black-type stakes and two of those stakes graded. He capped off his juvenile year with wins in Iroquois Stakes (G3) and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2), both at Churchill Downs. Because he'd already won three stakes in Canada—the Clarendon, Vandal, and Swynford stakes—he was honored as Canadian Horse of the Year and Sovereign Award champion 2-year-old colt. At 3, he won the Canadian classic Prince of Wales Stakes.
He retired with a 7-3-3 record in 18 starts and earnings of $1,065,147.
