Description:

Winchell Thoroughbreds' Untapable, last year's 3-year-old filly champion, continued her steady works at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, breezing an easy half-mile in :51 on Feb. 2, which was four-fifths of a second faster than she worked last week.

Stablemate Tapiture, a multiple graded stakes winner and runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) for Winchell, was also on the work tab, breezing his half in :50 3/5.

Trainer Steve Asmussen has several options for his two stars, both offspring of Gainesway's leading sire Tapit, and will start shopping around for suitable races.

Untapable had an outstanding year in 2014, winning four grade I stakesLongines Breeders' Cup Distaff, Longines Kentucky Oaks, Cotillion Stakes, and Mother Goose Stakes.

Tapiture has captured four graded stakes in his career, including the West Virginia Derby (gr. II), Southwest Stakes (gr. III), and Matt Winn Stakes (gr. III) at 3. He also finished second in the grade II Pennsylvania Derby behind Bayern and ahead of California Chrome.

Also working at Fair Grounds on Feb. 2 were the promising 3-year-olds War Story, who breezed a half in :48 2/5, and Tiznow RJ, who went five furlongs in 1:01 3/5. They are coming off second- and third-place finishes, respectively, in the Lecomte Stakes (gr. III) behind International Star.
