Obituary: Ameche Worked at Gentry Farm

Tom Ameche, who came to Kentucky to help train his father's horses at Gentry Farm, died Dec. 20 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington. He was 80.

Ameche was the son of the late actor and comedian Don Ameche, who boarded his horses at Gentry Farm. A Navy veteran, Tom Ameche also worked in horse transportation.

Ameche is survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bill Dahlstram; two nephews; sister, Bonnie Ameche; and brother, Don Ameche Jr.; cousin, Patrick Ameche and other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Ameche and Larry Ameche; one sister, Connie Ameche.
