Hoppertunity's First Foal is a Pennsylvania-Bred Filly

Hoppertunity's first reported foal, a filly, was born Jan. 14 in Pennsylvania

Multiple grade 1 winner Hoppertunity , a 9-year-old son of Any Given Saturday, was represented by his first reported foal when a bay filly out of Rhythm in Shoes was born Jan. 14 at Peter Alafoginis' farm near Lawrenceville, Pa.

Bred by Rick Molineaux, the filly is a sibling to seven winners, including full sisters In Mid Heir (Wildcat Heir), who earned more than $240,000, and Clean Heir, who earned more than $126,000. Stakes winner Rhythm in Shoes (Rhythm) is a half sister to listed stakes winner Anna Em (Our Emblem) and stakes-placed winner Rudy Flyer (Mutakddim).

In his first season at stud at Northview PA near Peach Bottom in 2019, Hoppertunity led all stallions in the Mid-Atlantic region by number of mares bred at 129. He retired sound after racing five years at the highest level, making 34 starts and earning $4,712,625. He won or placed in 19 graded stakes, nine at the grade 1 level. His nine victories included eight in graded stakes. Hoppertunity's best wins came in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park at 5 and the Clark Handicap (G1) at Churchill Downs as a 3-year-old facing older horses.

Hoppertunity stands his second season for $5,000 live foal, payable when the foal stands and nurses.
