The first two reported foals by grade 2 winner Prospect Park arrived within minutes of one another around 7 a.m. Feb. 1 at Harris Farms near Coalinga, Calif.
A dark bay colt out of the winning Papa Clem mare Classy Lady Liz and bred by Dana Rocheford became the sire's official first foal born. Soon after arrived a dark bay colt out of stakes producer Clouds of Glory, a Beau Genius half sister to black-type winners Super Tuesday (Political Ambition) and Vaderator (Cee's Tizzy).
Harris Farms bred the Clouds of Glory colt and also a Prospect Park filly out of the winning Lucky J.H. mare Quick Luck that foaled Feb. 3. Quick Luck is a half sister to grade 3 winner Quick Enough (High Brite).
Prospect Park, an 8-year-old son of Tapit , raced as a homebred for Pam and Marty Wygod. Raced from 2 to 5, he won or placed in six graded stakes on dirt and turf. His best performance was a victory in the 2015 La Jolla Handicap (G3T), in which he beat eventual multiple grade 1-placed, grade 2 winner Om by 4 1/4 lengths and earned a 112 Equibase Speed Rating.
Prospect Park retired with a 4-7-3 record out of 18 starts and earned $539,770. He stands at Harris Farms for $2,500.
