Grade 2 winner and fourth-crop sire Prospective has been exported to South Korea where he stands as the property of owner Lee Byung Il, according to Korean Racing Authority records.
The 11-year-old son of Malibu Moon had been entered in last fall's Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale but was pulled before being offered. Export records with The Jockey Club indicate the stallion was shipped to Korea Dec. 18.
Spendthrift Farm bred Prospective and sold him as a yearling through Legacy Bloodstock to trainer Mark Casse for $250,000 at The Saratoga Sale, Fasig-Tipton's select yearling sale in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Casse raced the colt for owner John Oxley.
Prospective won five black-type stakes out of 17 lifetime starts, including the 2012 Tampa Bay Derby (G2) and Ohio Derby (G3). He was retired with a 7-2-1 record and earned $719,130.
The stallion had his start during the 2014 breeding season at Ocala Stud and to date as sired four black-type winners, led by multiple stakes winner Ceci Valentina, who won last year's FTBOA Florida Sire Susan's Girl Stakes at Gulfstream Park and Juvenile Fillies Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park West. His stakes winners also include Broadway Run, who won the listed Coronation Cup Stakes on the turf at Saratoga Race Course.
Prospective, who has sired 62 winners through Feb. 6, stood for $3,000 in 2019.
