Darby Dan Farm's grade 1 winner Bee Jersey  sired his first reported foal Jan. 31 when a filly was born at Clearbrook Farm in Paris, Ky. Bred by Charles Fipke, the filly is produced from the winning Tale of Ekati  mare Icy Tales.

"She's a beautiful, long-legged filly," Clearbrook Farm's Bill Anderson said. "She's well balanced, and we're very happy with her."

The most accomplished son of Hill 'n' Dale Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) winner Jersey Town  (by Speightstown ), Bee Jersey is out of the stakes-placed Rahy mare Bees from the family of Weekend Surprise, dam of classic winners A.P. Indy and Summer Squall.

In 2018, Bee Jersey won the Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap (G1) in 1:33.13—earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 109, the second-fastest by any horse that year—and the Steve Sexton Mile Stakes (G3) with a 104 Beyer. He finished off the board just once in 10 starts and earned $976,293 in a stellar racing career for owner/breeder Fipke.
