Goldencents, Trinniberg Drill at Santa Anita

Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) winner Goldencents worked five furlongs on the Santa Anita Park main track in 59 seconds flat under leading rider Rafael Bejarano Oct. 18 as he prepares for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I).
"I thought he looked great," said trainer Doug O'Neill as the Nov. 1 BC Dirt Mile approaches. "Raffy and the horse looked great together."
Goldencents will be stretching out from six furlongs for his next start after a late-running second-place finish in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship (gr. I) Oct. 5. He also ran second in the Bing Crosby (gr. I) and Pat O'Brien (gr. II) stakes this summer at Del Mar. Owned by W. C. Racing, Dave Kenney, and RAP Racing, the bay son of Into Mischief has earned $1.44 million while posting four wins and four seconds from 11 lifetime starts.
O'Neill also sent out leading Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT) contender Clenor, an Irish-bred daughter of Oratorio owned by Good Friends Stable and partners, for a half-mile spin on turf in :47 1/5. Clenor won Santa Anita's Surfer Girl Stakes Oct. 6 on the turf.
The trainer will also be represented in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) by FrontRunner Stakes (gr. I) winner Bond Holder, who worked five furlongs a day earlier in 1:00 4/5.
"He worked great," O'Neill said of Reddam Racing's 2-year-old Mineshaft colt. "There was a lot left in the tank. It's exciting. He really came out of the FrontRunner in great shape. He'll need to pick it up to win the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, but he's heading in the right direction."
Elsewhere, defending Xpressbet Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Trinniberg, who disappointed in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship, worked a half-mile Oct. 18 in a bullet :46 3/5 for trainer Bisnath Parboo.
"He went very nice without the whip," Parboo said of the 4-year-old son of Teuflesberg who has earned more than $1.5 million.
Defending Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (gr. IT) winner Mizdirection worked seven furlongs on turf in 1:24 flat under Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith.
"It was a nice strong work," said trainer Mike Puype. "She's right on schedule."
