Description:

Jockey Elvis Trujillo is expected to be out of action at Gulfstream Park for 90 days, according to agent Cliff Collier.

The 30-year-old journeyman, who makes his home in nearby Hollywood, suffered a broken collarbone in a freak post-race spill Oct. 13. He will undergo surgery Oct. 22, said Collier.

Trujillo was unseated by favored Stars Collide when she stumbled suddenly after a third-place finish in the fifth race, a 1 1/16-mile claiming turf event for fillies and mares. Trujillo annually ranks among the top jockeys at Gulfstream.
