Sackatoga Stable's Tiz the Law is slated to work March 1 or 2 at Palm Meadows Training Center, according to Sackatoga managing partner Jack Knowlton. The sharp winner of the Feb. 1 Holy Bull Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park has not recorded a work since a Feb. 10 half-mile breeze in :50 at Palm Meadows.

"He had a minor foot bruise last week," Knowlton confirmed. "It was very minor, but it's all behind us—it was nothing serious at all. He's been on the track every day. … He jogged three miles yesterday and should be ready to go according to plan either Sunday or Monday."

Trainer Barclay Tagg is pointing Tiz the Law to the March 28 Curlin Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream. The $1 million race at 1 1/8 miles is the final South Florida prep for the May 2 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1).

A New York-bred son of leading second-crop sire Constitution , Tiz the Law has won three of four starts, including the one-mile Champagne Stakes (G1) last year at Belmont Park, putting Sackatoga Stable back in the spotlight. The partnership group has been down this path before with dual classic winner Funny Cide in 2003.

Tiz the Law was bred by Twin Creeks Farm out of the Tiznow  mare Tizfiz, and was a $110,000 purchase from Sequel New York's consignment to the 2018 Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings Sale.
