Eight weeks before the $3 million Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), the pari-mutuel field of "All Other 3-Year-Olds" closed as the 4-1 favorite in Pool 3 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager.

Unbeaten San Felipe Stakes (G2) winner Authentic closed as the 6-1 second choice. Champagne Stakes (G1) and Holy Bull Stakes (G3) winner Tiz the Law was the 7-1 third choice March 8 after closing as the individual favorite in Pools 1 and 2.

"All Other 3-Year-Olds" has closed as the March future pool favorite in 15 of the past 18 years.

Other horses who attracted interest from bettors in the KDFW Pool 3 were Bob Baffert's Nadal (10-1) and Charlatan (12-1); San Felipe runner-up Honor A. P. (14-1); Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (G1) winner Maxfield (15-1); and Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) winner Ete Indien (16-1).

The KDFW, offered for a 22nd consecutive year, enables bettors to wager on possible Kentucky Derby contenders in advance of America's greatest race at odds that could be more attractive than those available on the day of the race.

In the lone Kentucky Oaks Future Wager, conducted concurrently with the KDFW, the pari-mutuel field of "All Other 3-Year-Old Fillies" closed as the 3-1 favorite over runaway Las Virgenes Stakes (G2) winner Venetian Harbor, who was 4-1.

All told, $545,684 was bet in future wagers over the three-day period compared to last year's $552,662. Churchill Downs has handled $1,533,989 in future wagers since November. Last year's total future wager handle was $1,377,952 through the comparative dates.

Total handle for the March 6-8 KDFW pool—the third of four wagering pools in advance of the 1 1/4-mile Kentucky Derby—was $356,668 ($260,270 in the Win pool and $96,398 in Exactas) versus last year's $385,464 ($282,199 in the Win pool and $103,265 in Exactas).
