TERF Awards $3,750 in Equine-Related Scholarships

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award $3,750 to four Wilson College students to further their education.
Wilson College's mission is to empower students through an engaged, collaborative, liberal arts education that combines the skills and focused study needed for success in work and life.
For the past four years, TERF has generously provided scholarships to eighteen students in alignment with their own mission, to support and promote equine education and research by sponsoring scholarships in veterinary medicine. With TERF's continued assistance, Wilson College students will be able to receive scholarships to enable the continuance of their education for years to come. These scholarships will ensure that passionate students develop the skills necessary to create a bright future for the Thoroughbred.
This year's recipients are each Equine Facilitated Therapeutics (EFT) majors and will use these funds to further their education in the Equine field.
Bethany Doppel (2020). Bethany is from Hagerstown, MD. She chose Wilson because it is one of the few colleges that offers an EFT program that lines students up for certification. She is the captain of the Wilson College Dressage Team and a Wilson College EFT Club member. After Wilson, she plans to work as a therapeutic riding instructor at her home barn in Hagerstown.
Catlin Umberger (2020) Caitlin is from Frederick, MD. She was drawn to Wilson by the EFT program and is an active EFT volunteer. She hopes to one day open her own Therapeutic Riding Facility.
Rachel Stoner (2020) Rachel is from East Berlin, PA. Her desire to further her education in EFT is what brought her to Wilson. She is a New Student Orientation Leader as well as an EFT Volunteer. Upon graduation, she would like to work full time for Shining Stars Therapeutic Ministries in Gettysburg, PA as a therapeutic riding instructor and barn manager.
Michelle Miller (2020) Michelle is from Delran, NJ. She was drawn to Wilson because of its outstanding EFT program and hands-on learning approach. She is involved in the EFT Club, the Evening Club, and is a member of the Huntseat team. After Wilson, Michelle plans on working as a therapeutic riding instructor and eventually start her own therapeutic riding facility.
