In an effort to assist Thoroughbred aftercare, owners with horses racing at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots on Louisiana Derby Day are being encouraged to pledge a percentage of their earnings to support New Vocations efforts. All funds raised will go directly to support the horses currently at the Louisiana facility, which has already served over 50 retired racehorses since opening last year.

"It's been a pleasure to help serve the Louisiana horsemen with New Vocations," shared Rosie Napravnick. "I'm thrilled with the reception from the racing community in Louisiana and hope both the pledge and silent auction are able to raise much-needed funds for our satellite facility in Covington. We have received great support from the horsemen, which has enabled us to grow in a rather short period of time."

After seeing the great need for additional aftercare options for racehorses retiring in Louisiana, Napravnick joined forces with New Vocations last year to open a satellite facility in Covington. She has been instrumental in the expansion and has played a key role in helping raise funds and awareness for the new facility.

In addition to the pledge, New Vocations will have an online auction with a variety of items ranging from unique New Orleans art to gift baskets and packages. The online auction can be viewed at https://louisianaderby.cbo.io and will run until March 22 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
