Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, the leading consignor during the first session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training, made another solid pinhooking score when a Constitution colt was sold for $550,000 early during the March 18 second session.
Cataloged as Hip 386, the bay colt out of the winning Smart Strike mare Screwgie was purchased by Dennis O'Neill. During the pre-sale under tack show works, the colt breezed a quarter-mile in :20 4/5.
Bred in Kentucky by J. Stephen McDonald, the colt was previously bought by Dunne's Red Wings pinhooking program for $95,000 from Kaizen Sales at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
The colt's second dam is grade 2 winner Roshani, by Fantastic Light. McDonald purchased Screwgie for $125,000 while carrying the Constitution colt in utero when offered by Winter Quarter Farm at the 2017 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
