Vaulcluse, a 15-year-old mare owned by Gainesway Farm, delivered a filly by stallion War Front at 9:36 p.m. on March 24 at Gainesway as part of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame's Foal Patrol Season 3. This is the fourth foal of the season delivered on Foal Patrol. Both the mare and foal are healthy and doing well.
Vaulcluse, a daughter of Hall of Fame member A.P. Indy, delivered her War Front filly eight days after her expected foaling date of March 16. She joins Magical World (Three Chimneys Farm, Versailles, Ky.), Hall of Fame member Ashado (Gainsborough Farm, Versailles, Ky.), and New Money Honey (Indian Creek Farm, Paris, Ky.) among the mares to have delivered so far this season on Foal Patrol. Two more mares—Alpine Sky at Old Tavern Farm in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (expected foaling date of April 21) and Emotional Kitten at Denali Stud in Paris, Ky. (expected foaling date of April 25)—are expected to give birth as part of Foal Patrol in the next month.
Foal Patrol is a one-of-a-kind interactive web project. Season 3 features a collection of live cameras where people can view real-time streams of six mares and their foals, as well as the Three Chimneys stallion Gun Runner . The live camera feeds will be available according to each horse's daily schedule, set by the farm. The site also features a blog, numerous educational videos and articles, and much more.
