Brent and Crystal Fernung from Journeyman Stud issued the following COVID-19 business practice update March 20:
We want to assure you that we take the health and well-being of our equine community, their families and their employees very seriously. Like you, we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
OFFICE CHANGES
To help prevent in the spread of COVID-19, Journeyman Stud will be practicing social distancing to the best of our abilities given our industry requirements. We have temporarily closed our office to the public to protect and care for our employees and their families, our customers, and the public.
Our office will still be open during our regular hours Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm if you need to drop off paperwork we will be here to accept it. Our office phones are forwarded to Crystal's cell after office hours and during the weekend so our services to you remain uninterrupted. If for some reason (like Tuesday) our phones have a temporary interruption of service, you can call her cell direct at 352-266-4652.
BREEDING SHED CHANGES
When bringing your mare to the breeding shed we do ask that you remain outside the barn and breeding shed during your mares visit. Journeyman is taking all precautions possible and have instituted some extra steps along with our regular cleaning practices between breedings.
For your convenience, your veterinarian may text needed cultures and EHV-1 veterinarian certificates to Crystal's cell. Our veterinarians are especially at risk this time of year so please take the time to tell them how grateful you are for their continued efforts.
FROM BRENT & CRYSTAL
Unlike other businesses, the equine community does not have the luxury of complete self-isolation. We, like you, are so very thankful for our amazing staff that continues to come to work each and every day to help us care for our horses and to service our customers.
We are all in this together and we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our customers and communities as needed.
We truly appreciate your participation during the 2020 breeding season and wish you all the best during this difficult time.
