Trained in Germany by Andreas Wohler for Sunrace Stables, Earl of Tinsdal was returning to the winner's circle for the first time in 16 months since taking the Gran Premio di Milano (Ity-I) eight starts back in June 2012. Meandre in the Grosser Preis von Europa (Ger-I) Sept. 22 at Cologne.
Earl of Tinsdal was timed in 2:31.10 for the 2,400 meters (about 1 1/2 miles) on turf. He has six wins, three seconds, and four thirds from 17 career starts. He added a third group I victory to his record, which also includes the 2011 Rheingold-Pokal (Ger-I), which followed a runner-up finish the IDEE Deutsches Derby (Ger-I, German Derby).
