Virtual Presentation Planned for Sovereign Awards

As a result of the ongoing concerns about COVID-19 and following the Province of Ontario's State of Emergency regulations, the winners of the 45th Annual Sovereign Awards will be announced through a virtual presentation no later than May 31, The Jockey Club of Canada announced April 17.

Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2019 Sovereign Awards ceremony was scheduled to take place April 16. 

Detailed information, including the date and time, will be announced once they have been confirmed, The Jockey Club of Canada said. 

Aside from the Horse of the Year category, which has not been announced, the list of finalists includes:
