Hronis Racing's Edgeway had another impressive win April 26 when she took a six-furlong allowance optional claiming race at Oaklawn Park.

In her Feb. 29 debut, the 3-year-old daughter of Competitive Edge  trained by John Sadler led from the start and pulled away to an easy five-length win. In her second start, she did not fare as well after setting the pace against tougher competition but held for third behind Kimari and Frank's Rockette in the April 4 Purple Martin Stakes. All three of her starts have been at Oaklawn.

On Sunday, Edgeway broke a bit slow and raced in sixth as Misty Blue took the field through the first quarter-mile in :21.86. Under jockey Tyler Baze, Edgeway moved up to third while Sassy Seneca took over the lead to post a half-mile in :45.60. Edgeway made progress around the turn and was a length in front when the field headed down the stretch.

She finished the distance in 1:10.36 on a fast track, winning by 1 1/2 lengths. The 4-5 favorite paid $3.60 to win. Charming Lady and High On Gin finished second and third, respectively.

Bred in Kentucky by Pope McLean, Valerie Blethen, and David Blethen, Edgeway is out of the stakes-winning Stormin Fever mare Magical Solution, a half sister to grade 1 winner The Lumber Guy. She was purchased last spring by agent Martin Anthony for $275,000 from the Mayberry Farm consignment to the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training.
