Inis Gluaire breezes as Hip 240 at the 2019 OBS March Sale under tack show

Phoenix Thoroughbreds' $825,000 purchase Inis Gluaire is set to be unveiled May 1 in a six-furlong test for 3-year-old maidens in Oaklawn Park's sixth race.

The Bernardini  colt, bred by Godolphin & Robert Costigan, is out of Canada's champion grass mare Inish Glora and was purchased from the King's Equine consignment to last year's Ocala Breeders' Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training, where he breezed a furlong in :09 4/5 during the under tack show.

Inis Gluaire trained at Keeneland before shipping to Oaklawn and breezed five furlongs in :59 4/5 April 21 at the Lexington track.

The Steve Asmussen trainee drew the outside post 12 and will face an overflow field with two also-eligibles. At morning-line odds of 3-1, Inis Gluaire is the second choice behind favorite Onaway, another maiden of note.

Trained by Brad Cox for Rupp Racing, Onaway is a Carpe Diem  half brother to grade 2 winner Deeply Undervalued out of grade 2 winner Dream About. In his only start, Onaway finished fourth in a Feb. 15 maiden test over the same course and distance after a slow start.

Onaway, who has been at Oaklawn since the beginning of the year, breezed a half-mile in :48 in his most recent timed work April 25.

Fast Cash, the morning-line third choice at 6-1, is the first foal out of Canadian champion female sprinter Hillaby. Trained by Wayne Catalano for Gary and Mary West, Fast Cash has also started once, placing fifth March 7 over the same course and distance as Friday's test.

The Malibu Moon  colt was a $300,000 purchase by agent Ben Glass from the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. His second dam is 2007 Canadian Horse of the Year Sealy Hill, who has also produced dual grade 1 winner Cambier Parc as well as grade 3 winners Belle Hill and Gale Force.
