Two-time champion Beholder could make her return to the races in the $350,000 Madison Stakes (gr. I) over seven furlongs at Keeneland on April 4, according to trainer Richard Mandella.

"She's six to eight weeks away," the Hall of Fame trainer said the morning of Feb. 12. "The Madison is the race we're considering."

The 5-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes owned by B. Wayne Hughes had her first recorded workout Feb. 10 since being sidelined prior to the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) with illness. She went three furlongs handily in :36 4/5 at Santa Anita Park.

An Eclipse Award winner at ages 2 and 3, Beholder has not raced since taking the Zenyatta Stakes (gr. I) Sept. 27 at Santa Anita. The bay mare won both the Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) in 2012 and the Breeders' Cup Distaff in 2013, both at Santa Anita.

Her career mark stands at 10 wins and three seconds from 15 lifetime starts with earnings of $3,368,300.
