Third-crop New York sire Honorable Dillon has been purchased by a syndicate of breeders in Uruguay and will be relocated for the 2020 Southern Hemisphere breeding season, according to bloodstock agent Carlos Moore.
The 10-year-old son of Tapit won or placed in six of 15 starts with his best performance coming with a victory in the Hutcheson Stakes (G2). Raced by Joseph Bucci and trained by Eddie Kenneally, who bought him for $100,000 from Parrish Farms at 2012 Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, Honorable Dillon retired with $233,649 in earnings.
Honorable Dillon entered stud at Rockridge Stud in New York for $5,000. He became New York's second-leading freshman sire in 2018 with eight winners from 29 starters and progeny earnings of $323,473. To date, he's sired 26 winners that have collectively earned $1,335,540. His top performers are Honorable Hero, who won three of 13 starts on the turf and earned $163,955, and London House, who won three of nine starts on the dirt and earned $116,920.
Bred in New York by Saratoga Glen Farm, Honorable Dillon is out of the Argentina-bred, stakes-placed winner Shy Greeting, who also is the dam of Argentine champion and group 1 winner Forty Greeta and stakes-placed winner Liquidity Trap. The family has also produced grade 2 winner Good Command, who stood in Texas and Peru in the early 1990s.
