Three Chimneys Farm's homebred Fortune Ticket, a full brother to 2017 Horse of the Year Gun Runner , will make his second start June 9 in a one-mile maiden special weight at Lone Star Park for trainer Steve Asmussen.

The 3-year-old Candy Ride  colt debuted March 13 in a six-furlong maiden test at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, but finished last as the favorite in the field of 10 3-year-olds.

After shipping from Louisiana in mid-May, Fortune Ticket has posted three timed works at Lone Star—getting four furlongs in :48 3/5 May 16, five furlongs in 1:01 May 24, and most recently an easy five furlongs in 1:03 May 31, as is typical of an Asmussen trainee before a race.

The colt, to be ridden by Stewart Elliott from post 4, will face seven other males, 3 and older, in Tuesday's test. He was assigned morning-line odds of 6-1.

Among his challengers is the unmistakable Southern Phantom, a uniquely marked 4-year-old son of Bodemeister  who has yet to win a race in eight starts. The colt is making his fourth start for owner Danny Caldwell since he was purchased for $20,000 during the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Now trained by Federico Villafranco, Southern Phantom finished third in a Feb. 2 maiden test at Aqueduct Racetrack, but was off the board most recently March 20 at Oaklawn Park.

Wayne Sanders and Larry Hirsch's Bandit Swanson was dubbed the morning-line favorite for Tuesday's race at odds of 9-5. Winless in six starts, the 4-year-old Ghostzapper  gelding was third last time out after being bumped at the start in an off-the-turf mile at Fair Grounds, which also served as his season debut.

Trained by Bret Calhoun, Bandit Swanson will be ridden by Richard Eramia from the rail.

Asmussen's second entry is another Candy Ride 3-year-old, named Hard Candy. Bred and owned by Peter E. Blum Thoroughbreds, the colt has raced twice. After finishing sixth at Remington Park in December, Hard Candy finished fourth in a 6 1/2-furlong race Jan. 26 at Sam Houston Race Park.
