A Candy Ride colt from the female family of grade 1 winner and sire Tapizar was purchased for $800,000 by D. J. Stable, lighting up the bid board during the June 10 session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales' Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale.
Bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm, the colt consigned as Hip 561 is a half brother to Battalion Runner, who finished second in the Wood Memorial (G2) and third in the Dwyer Stakes (G3); Oceanwave, whose three graded placings includes a third in the Indiana Oaks (G2); stakes-placed Tiznoble; and multiple stakes-placed Late Nite Mischief.
The colt's dam, the winning Tapit mare Tamboz, is a full sister to Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner and Gainesway sire Tapizar.
