A Street Boss  filly that breezed an eighth-mile in :09 4/5 during the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale under tack show produced the highest return on investment during the sale's June 9 opener in Ocala, Fla.

Consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales as Hip 286, the juvenile was purchased Tuesday by agent Steven W. Young for $230,000, a healthy return on the $37,000 paid when purchased by her consignor from Vinery Sales at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

After factoring in the sales commission and maintenance costs from time of purchase until sale, the filly produced a profit of $161,500, according to BloodHorse MarketWatch data.

Bred in Kentucky by Calumet Farm, Hip 286 was produced from the unraced A.P. Indy mare Pride of Place, a half sister to multiple grade 1 winner Flashing, the dam of French stakes winner Floodlight.

The filly is one of three Street Boss fillies consigned by Grassroots to the four-day sale, and one of two that breezed in :09 4/5—the second-fastest time at the distance for the seven days of workouts.

"She's a really balanced, racey filly that worked in :09 4/5 and galloped out really well," said Grassroots' David McKathan. "It wasn't a huge surprise that she brought that kind of price because she was well-received by a whole lot of the buyers. I'm a big fan of (Darley stallion) Street Boss."
