Silverbulletday Stakes winner I'm a Chatterbox will aim for her first graded stakes win when she starts in the $175,000 Rachel Alexandra Stakes (gr. III) Saturday, Feb. 21, at Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots.
Fletcher and Carolyn Gray homebred I'm a Chatterbox thrived at Fair Grounds in her 2015 debut as the daughter of Munnings overpowered eight other 3-year-old fillies to secure her first stakes win with an eight-length score Jan. 17 in the Silverbulletday. The daughter of Munnings will stretch out a bit from that one-mile and 70-yard effort in the 1 1/16-mile Rachel Alexandra for 3-year-old fillies.
I'm a Chatterbox won her career debut in a maiden special weight race at Keeneland in October before finishing third in an allowance-optional claiming race and fourth in the Golden Rod Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs. After the season, I'm a Chatterbox was moved from the barn of Ken McPeek to Larry Jones.
In her first start for Jones, I'm a Chatterbox led at every call and drew off to the easy win in the Silverbulletday. She started from the inside post that day and will break from the outside in the expected field of nine Saturday.
In Saturday's Rachel Alexandra, Jones also has entered Calumet Farm's White Clover, a maiden winner, and Brereton Jones' Lovely Maria, who enters off a Jan. 26 allowance-optional claiming victory at Fair Grounds.
The Rachel Alexandra field also includes a grade I winner in Angela Renee, who won last year's Chandelier Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park and will make her 2015 debut. Angela Renee closed out 2014 with a 10th-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Santa Anita, where she was sent off the 3-1 favorite; and a third in the Demoiselle Stakes (gr. II) at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Siena Farm homebred Angela Renee will be making her Fair Grounds debut Saturday.
The field also includes Silverbulletday runner-up Forever Unbridled, a Charles Fipke homebred trained by Dallas Stewart who will try to improve on a sustained move that saw the daughter of Unbridled's Song pass three horses in the Silverbulletday despite racing wide.
The fourth-place finisher from the Silverbulletday, Gary and Mary West homebred West Coast Belle, also is back for the Rachel Alexandra. The daughter of Tapit defeated I'm a Chatterbox when she won last year's Golden Rod, which capped a perfect 3-for-3 juvenile season for West Coast Belle.
New York-bred Freudie Anne will try for her first graded stakes win after closing out last season with a pair of victories over other New York-bred 2-year-old fillies at Aqueduct by a combined 14 1/4 lengths.
