Globe-trotting Tattersalls Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1) and Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) hero Magician is on the move again, with French publication Jour de Galop reporting the son of Galileo is to stand the 2021 breeding season in Italy.
The 10-year-old began his stallion career at Coolmore's United States base at Ashford Stud in Kentucky in 2015, from where he bred the likes of Cardini, who was third in the Howcroft Industrial Supplies Champagne Stakes (G2) at Doncaster.
He spent almost four full seasons at Ashford but transferred to Coolmore's Castlehyde Stud in Ireland for the latter part of the 2018 season. The following year he switched to Haras de Corlay in France, where he spent two seasons. He stood for €3,800 in 2020.
Magician's oldest crop are 4, with his roll of honor including U.S. listed winner Miss My Rose, dual French scorer Mister Nino, and the useful Starczewski.
Magician's Italian stud career will be managed by a partnership of Mattia Cadrobbi, Marco Bozzi, and Guido Berardelli. A fee and a farm will be announced later.
From three crops of racing age, Magician has produced 41 winners from 92 starters, who have earned a cumulative $2,037,154.
On the racetrack, the stallion also earned top placings in the Tattersalls Gold Cup (G1), Prince of Wales's Stakes (G1), and Arlington Million XXXII (G1T).
