Eagerly Awaiting Spring to Wear These Five Items

As I sit here typing from the frozen tundra that is New York City, I can’t help but dream about the countless clothes and accessories I’ll get to wear come spring, which I hope is sooner than later because I know people are beginning to think the only things I own is my cape coat and bean boots.
What are the top five things I can’t wait to don?
Blooming, bold floral prints: Nothing says SPRING IS HERE quite like flowers themselves. This perennial fashion is a yearly favorite on the runway and doesn't have to look 1980s mom-jean, wearing tacky.
This year looks to be edgier and bolder in fashion than the last few years. I’m on the lookout for the perfect tropical floral, 70s bohemian and oversized flowered track dresses.

Lace: It's timeless, airy, ladylike, delicate and oh, so versatile. Tops, dainty dresses, and elegant ensembles - you name it, you can find it in lace and it’s easily transitional from day to night, something extremely important once I start my track-going weekends and still want to see my friends out at night.
The best part about lace is that so many more options besides the traditional white lace are becoming available. Pastel lace and sheer lace are both perfect seasonal compliments as we transition away from these bitterly cold months and look to be a trend we’ll see a lot of in the coming months.
Silk scarves: OK, so I’ve never been a silk scarf-wearing gal, but I received not one, but two gorgeous Vineyard Vines scarves when I first started with ABR and those babes need some exposure. It doesn’t hurt that one is a lime green, pink, blue and white Kentucky Derby 139 scarf and the other is a light pink and purple Breeders’ Cup one – both perfect for the races. Plus, after Netflix binging on “Mad Men,” I think I’m ready to incorporate them into my style. I mean, you can add hardware to them, tie them around your neck French-twist style or even braid them into your hair - so many options!

Rompers: If you know me, you know that “romps” as I like to call them, are one of my absolute favorite things to wear – EVAH, EVAH. They are extremely versatile, comfortable and especially perfect for those days when you're short on time or don't have the brain capacity to coordinate your outfit. Rompers are the shorts, jumpsuits are the pants and I will cry tears of joy when I get to wear both of them again.
Wedges: Don’t get my wrong, I love my boots so much and live to wear them, but right now I can’t wait to not have to wear two layers of socks to keep my feet warm inside of them.
Heels are great, but when you’re walking in the paddock, on the grass in the backyards or at top of the stretch, wedges are so the way to go. Plus, they are way more comfortable when you’re on your feet all day long.
