Hard Aces Bought Privately, Moving to Sadler

Hard Aces, sharp winner of the Louisiana Handicap in his first start of 2015, has been sold privately to Hronis Racing with plans to ship to Southern California to take on Shared Belief in the $1 million Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) March 7.



Bloodstock agent Mersad Metanovic confirmed the deal for the 5-year-old son of Hard Spun  , who will move to the barn of John Sadler. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Hard Aces was previously trained by Larry Jones for Dreamchaser Thorobreds. Metanovic said Hard Aces would be be scratched from the Mineshaft Handicap (gr. III) Feb. 21 at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, where he was the 9-2 second choice on the morning line.



Out of the winning Quiet American mare All in With Aces, Hard Aces exits a four-length win in the listed Louisiana Handicap Jan. 17. It was the bay horse's first stakes win in a 19-race career that includes five victories, three seconds, and six thirds with earnings of $215,145.



Metanovic and Steve Castagnola's Kempton Bloodstock brokered the deal for Hard Aces.
