Gary Barber's multiple grade 1-winning millionaire Got Stormy breezed a half-mile in :49 flat Aug. 14 on the Oklahoma training turf, her final work for her title defense in the $400,000 Fourstardave Handicap (G1T) coming up Aug. 22 at the Spa.

The 5-year-old Get Stormy  mare became the first filly to win the Fourstardave last year, when she covered one mile on a firm inner turf in a record 1:32. She followed her first grade 1 score for trainer Mark Casse with runner-up efforts in the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (G1T) and TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T), then ended her 2019 campaign with a Matriarch Stakes (G1T) score at Del Mar.

Winless in four starts this season, including a last-out fourth in the July 4 Poker Stakes (G3T) at Belmont Park, Got Stormy has posted four strong works on the Oklahoma training turf.

"This morning she did a half and came home the last eighth pretty quick," assistant trainer Jamie Begg said. "I was happy with the work. She went easy enough, and I think she's going into the race really well."

Got Stormy enters Saturday's test with nearly seven weeks between starts, but Begg said she's ready to fire.

"The turf was really wet at the end of Belmont and at the beginning of this meet, so we were waiting for this spot," he said. "We know she likes Saratoga."
