Several maiden races around the country Aug. 15 have drawn fields with some hefty price tags and well-related juveniles mixed in.

Saratoga Race Course's sixth race is a 6 1/2-furlong test for 2-year-olds, and featured among the field of 10 is the Chad Brown-trained Engrave, a half brother to multiple grade 1 winner Beach Patrol. Purchased and campaigned by OXO Equine, Engrave was a $900,000 buy from Elm Tree Farm at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale last year.

The Flatter  colt has been working regularly on Saratoga's main track and will contest his debut on dirt, although his grade 1-winning sibling was a well-known turf horse. His dam, Bashful Bertie, a half sister to grade 2 winner Hurricane Bertie and a full sister to grade 2 winner Allamerican Bertie, has two other winners who raced primarily on turf overseas.

In his most recent timed breeze from the gate, Engrave completed five furlongs Aug. 9 in 1:00.12.

Jose Ortiz will ride Engrave from the rail.

Another high-priced Flatter colt will make his debut Saturday when Jeremiah Englehart sends out Charleston Strong, a $600,000 Keeneland September purchase from the Greenfield Farm consignment.

Also training at the Spa, Charleston Strong last worked Aug. 8, getting four furlongs in a comfortable :50.61. He is out of the unraced War Front  mare Facethefront, a half sister to multiple graded stakes winner Ball Four.

He will be ridden by Luis Saez from post 8.

Others in the race with group/grade 1-winning siblings include High Knuckles, a half brother to Dads Caps and a full brother to Paulassilverlining; Officiating, a half to Caledonia Road; and Southern Passage, who is out of a Peruvian group 1 winner and is a half to Cascanueces, who was also a group 1 winner in Peru.

Saratoga's second race, a 1 1/16-mile maiden race on the turf, also has juveniles to watch as Brown will have Polinesia, an $800,000 purchase racing for Coolmore connections and Peter Brant. The American Pharoah  colt is the first foal out of grade 3 winner Super Majesty, by Super Saver .

In the same race, Rip It, a son of Tapit  out of Ribblesdale Stakes (G2) winner Riposte, will make his second start for trainer Christophe Clement.

At Del Mar, Bob Baffert will unveil the Kerri Radcliffe $900,000 purchase Illumination, a daughter of Medaglia d'Oro  and the grade 1-placed Street Sense mare Light the City, in race 8, a 5 1/2-furlong contest for 2-year-old fillies.
